When the EPTS is issued

The car first clears customs. Then the record is created and the buyer receives the EPTS number and an electronic extract.

What the record contains

  • VIN, make and model
  • Production year and engine
  • Power, displacement and fuel type
  • Emission class
  • Owner details

What to check

Check the VIN, model, year and engine against the documents and the actual car. Discrepancies should be fixed before the record is created.

Registration

The traffic police need a valid EPTS record. Without it, registration is impossible. We issue the record after release and hand over the number.

Checklist

  • Match VIN and engine
  • Check year and power
  • Get the record number
  • Hand over documents for registration
